We are a team of clinical psychologists, psychologists, clinical neuropsychologists, speech pathologists, and psychiatrists, providing clinical assessment and evidence-based therapies for adults, adolescents, children, and families in the Inner-West of Sydney.

What we are looking for?

We are currently looking for clinical psychologists/clinical psychology registrars/psychologists with an interest in child and adolescent psychology generally, including an interest in assessment, diagnosis, and clinical management of matters related to gender dysphoria. In this role you will be working across our Child and Adolescent Gender Clinic and the King Street Wellbeing Clinic.

Our Child and Adolescent Gender Clinic is first and only private clinic in Australia focusing soley on assessment and management of gender dysphoria in children and adolescents. We have 8 clinical psychologists/psychologists working with gender dysphoric youth, as well as a clinical neuropsychologist undertaking psychometric assessment of common co-morbidities (i.e., ASD, ADHD), and a child and adolescent psychiatrist.

This position will also enable clinicians to take on general mental health child/adolescent and adult caseloads (at our other clinics), psychometric testing, and facilitation of group therapy, if so interested. Flexible 2- to 5- day per week roles are available. Full admin support is provided, therapy resources, psychometric tests, group and individual supervision with leading clinical psychologists in this field, and opportunities to be involved in clinical research, are part of the package we provide.

Registrar Program and Supervision

Our psychologists are provided extensive supervision and training opportunities as part of their role. This includes weekly face-2-face supervision with senior clinical psychologists, who publish research and work almost exclusively with young people experience gender dysphoria (Dr James Morandini and Dr Georgia McClure), weekly case conferences, and weekly group supervision aimed at building basic competencies and knowledge in the area of child and adolescent gender dysphoria.

Necessary skills and experience

Masters / Doctoral degree in Clinical or Developmental Psychology

Minimum commitment of 2 days (flexible hours/ days) with the flexibility to increase or work weekends

Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA with/without clinical endorsement, with eligibility for Medicare rebate ("soon to be registered" for those newly graduated is also fine).

A passion for and experience working with adolescents

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A compassionate and empathetic approach to assessment and treatment delivery

Desirable criteria

Experience in the assessment of ASD (e.g., ADOS-2)

Interest in psychometric testing

Interest in being involved in (and developing) clinical research related to gender dysphoria/identity

Experience working with gender-diverse or sexual minority youth
