I received my medical degree in Sydney and sexuality training in the USA. I then worked in Sexually Transmitted Diseases Clinics, Family Planning Clinics and General Practice specialising in sexual dysfunction for many years. After receiving my Masters in Psychotherapy I focused on sexuality. My work covers positive male and female sexuality, sexual dysfunctions and the interpersonal relationships of both heterosexual and homosexual couples. I work in an eclectic medical and psychotherapist framework.

I have been active in the Australian sexual health scene since the 1980s working on committees, being president of national and international sexual health conferences, writing articles for peer reviewed journals, being involved in sexuality research and speaking at conferences, medical education forums and for the community.

I received an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2016 for my work in sexual health/sexuality.
