ACCREDITED MEMBERS

The Society of Australian Sexologists has a growing membership based all around the country.

An accredited member is someone who is in good standing with the Society and who has met the minimum standards for accreditation as a Psychosexual Therapist or Sexuality Educator.

There are many people who identify as a sexologist or sexuality expert however, the Society has developed a system of accreditation to ensure the public is protected with only trained, qualified and experienced sexologists providing professional sex therapy or sexuality education in Australia. Our accredited members have worked hard to become educated, experienced, and trained in the speciality.

Psychosexual Therapists and Sexuality Educators specialise in a variety of areas, so it is important to enquire if they are qualified and competent in the specific issue you are wishing to engage their services for. A Psychosexual Therapist should have a primary degree or qualification in a mental health related field such as psychology, counselling, nursing or social work with advanced studies in Sexology.

Sexuality Educators may come from a more diverse range of backgrounds including teaching, nursing, therapy, media and gender studies, and the arts, with advanced training in Sexology.

The Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd (SAS) acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work and live.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture.
We also acknowledge and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their contributions to our community.

SAS represents health and allied health professionals working in the area of sex therapy, sexuality education, sexual health and sexology.
We are proud to be a member organisation of:
