Candice Care-Unger is the Professional Leader of Social Work and the Sexuality Services Team Leader at Royal Rehab. With more than 16 years’ experience in the area of acquired and traumatic injury and rehabilitation, she brings a unique understanding of disability to Psychosexual Therapy.  Candice has post graduate qualifications in Public Health (MPH) and Sexual Health and Reproduction (Psychosexual Therapy).

Candice will be talking about working with clients with acquired brain injury (ABI) and the opportunities for psychosexual therapy to support and improve sexuality and relationship outcomes for clients and their partners post injury.

Candice will address: 

  • Common challenges and presenting sexual health issues after ABI
  • Assessment of ABI for therapists
  • Challenges and strategies for working with couples when one has an ABI
  • An introduction to the Sexuality Service at Royal Rehab and what services they provide  
  • Case Presentations to highlight clinical challenges and interventions in delivery of Psychosexual Therapy
