Professional developmenT & Peer Supervision

Dear SASQLD members,

We are very excited to announce that SASQLD will be hosting our final Professional Development and Peer Supervision event on Wednesday 11th October and you are all warmly invited. Please note that there had been a swap in the Events Calendar with the speaker roster and this time we are excited to be learning from:

Presenter:

Kate Dempsey - Sexology North Queensland

Topic:

“Sexual Function and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)"

Date:

Wednesday 11th October

Time:

6pm - 7pm Professional Development presentation followed by

7pm - 8pm Peer Supervision group session

Venue:

New Farm Library Meeting Room #1 and

Online via Zoom (link provided with registration)

Irrespective of whether trauma is of a sexual or non-sexual nature, the impact on the mind/body has similar consequences for sexual function. Kate has been working in a Trauma Recovery Program for veterans and first responders who have been diagnosed with PTSD since 2019 and will be speaking about her work with this population.

This Professional Development presentation will be followed by a one hour group Peer Supervision session for current practicing therapists. SASQLD Supervision Guidelines will be provided for those who register for this event.

Come along and meet some of the sexologists in your state and learn together in a warm, inclusive and supportive community.

Warmly,

Armin, Kate, Catherine and Sarah.
