    ABOUT THE ROLE:
    The School Services programs run in many primary schools during NSW school terms and provide relationship and sexuality education programs based on a sound educational principle to assist students and families address specific questions students have around gender, sexuality, and communication.

    The successful candidate, once trained, will be responsible in conducting relationship and sexuality education programs on their own for primary school students, parents, and community members as required and to promote Interrelate programs & services.

    There will be day & evening work involved during the school term and the need for administrative tasks to be completed from home. You must be able to attend compulsory training and attend the end-of-term meetings. Furthermore, you must have access to a motor vehicle, mobile phone, and current driver's licence.

    The Date-Ability Project are seeking qualified Counsellors to be apart of our Financial Literacy & Date-Ability Programs in Victoria
    This role will include mandatory work in
    -Coburg East- Thursdays
    -Werribee- Fridays
    -Frankston- Saturday (Mornings only 0930-1230)
    & Surrounding suburbs

    What are we looking for?

    We are looking for qualified counsellors or Sexologists based in Victoria to work as counsellors within our Date-Ability, 1:1 Relationship skills & Financial Literacy Programs.
    Within Financial Literacy, you will support participants to identify their goals relating to their own personal spending and create week to week strategies to overcome barriers and take steps closer to financial independence & their goals.
    -No experience in finance required, it's all basic budgeting, we focus on the habits and behaviours behind spending. -

    Within The Date-Ability Program, you will facilitate programs around healthy and safe relationships/social connections to small groups of people (NDIS participants), guide participants through games and assist when disclosures or moments of discomfort occur.

    The role also includes attendance at networking events and showcasing what we do when requested at various meetings and opportunities.
    A confident, engaging and approachable personality is a must.

    ROLE SUMMARY

    The Health Promotion Coordinator – Sexual and Reproductive Health is responsible for the delivery of evidence-based primary prevention health promotion programs and capacity building initiatives that promote women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, including abortion healthcare.

    Women’s Health East is the lead agency for ‘A Strategy for Equality: Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health in Melbourne’s East’ and a regional partnership of organisations that are committed to advancing optimal sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing for communities in the eastern region.

    The Health Promotion Coordinator contributes to the development and implementation of collaborative regional partnerships and supports the implementation of this regional strategy, action plan and collective evaluation framework, as well as partnership forums, training, communities of practice, and working groups.

    About the role

    The purpose of this role is to demonstrate accountability at an advanced practice level for managing and coordinating syphilis prevention in the context of a public health response and for the provision of specialist nursing advice, consultation, leadership and education to inter-professional team members as relevant to the specific context of the role. The focus is on complex cases for vulnerable patients in priority populations, including pregnant women/people and their sexual partners, women of reproductive age, heterosexual and non-gay identifying men who have sex with men.

    The role will:

    • Coordinate patient centred care across the patient journey.
    • Strengthen partnerships with other government and non-government agencies providing support and clinical care to priority populations.
    • Improve patient outcomes through the delivery of evidence-based care.
    • Facilitate systems improvement - providing a leadership role within the organisations and act as an agent of change.

    Where you'll be working
    While the position is owned by Mid North Coast LHD, the advertised role is located in our clinics in NNSW LHD, namely Lismore Sexual Health Service and Tweed Sexual Health Service. The successful applicant can work at either or both of these sites, depending on applicant preference, applicant location, and service needs. Suitable work arrangements may include working 0.5 FTE each week, or working full time every second week, whichever is more suitable for the successful applicant.

    The Community Support Team are dedicated to providing support surrounding respectful relationships, sexuality and sexual health education; professional learning; and casework for clients with additional needs.  

    You will be delivering the above aspects of sexual health education not only in a group setting but also providing one on one education both face to face and via online programs. 

    The role will require travel across Tasmania.
