Join the NSW SAS branch and Dr Vijay Ramanathan for this online professional development session in August, followed by the NSW AGM!

As therapists in Australia, we see clients who are migrants from different cultures around the globe, with varying length of residence in Australia and cultural identity. Join us to hear from an academic-practitioner who will share with us real-world case scenarios and practical tips to overcome challenges in providing culturally competent sex therapy service.

By the end of this session participants will be able to:

1. Describe the concept of acculturation within Australian multicultural context

2. Identify the sociocultural issues of migrants and differentiate them from that of refugees

3. Explain the relevance and importance of acculturation in the context of psychosexual problems/therapy

4. Discuss various approaches to enhance culturally-competent psychosexual therapy
