The Society of Australian Sexologists

The Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd is the National organisation, representing health and allied health professionals working in the area of sex therapy, sexual health/sexology. The society is a member-organisation of the Asia Oceania Federation of Sexology (AOFS), the regional body, and the World Association of Sexual Health (WAS), the international body. The society is also a founding member-organisation of the Australian Sexual Health Alliance (ASHA) – a body of professional organisations working in the broader sexual health arena in Australia. The Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission ABN 86163613661.The society offers membership, professional development, supervision and a rigorous accreditation process for those practicing as psychosexual counsellors/sex therapists/sexologists and sexuality educators. Members abide by a strict Code of Ethics and Practice and the WAS Millennium Declaration of Sexual Rights. One of the goals of the Society is to self-regulate the practice of psychosexual therapy and sexuality education, for the protection of our communities, in particular those at an increased risk and vulnerability.

Understanding Internet Pornography: When is it a problem and how should we treat it?

This workshop will provide you with innovative and effective ideas and tools for working with clients who have problems related to Internet Pornography use. Problematic pornography use may have an impact at the individual or couple level and Dr. Watts’ extensive experience in the area coupled with his long history of presenting nationally will contribute to a workshop that will be highly informative and useful to therapists, psychologists, general practitioners, allied health professionals, students and educators.
